" Peace on the Earth will come to stay, when we live Christmas every day.” – Helen Steiner Rice.
The name 'Christmas' comes from the Mass of Christ (or Jesus). A Mass service (which is sometimes called Communion or Eucharist) is where Christians remember that Jesus died and then came back to life. The 'Christ-Mass' service was the only one that was allowed to take place after sunset (and before sunrise the next day), so people had it at Midnight! So, we get the name Christ-Mass, shortened to Christmas.
Every year 25th December is celebrated as Christmas. To learn how different faiths celebrate their festivals while also imbibing a sense of religious tolerance in our learners the Prep section celebrated Christmas with great joy and vitality. Kinder Gajerians were arrayed in red and white (Santa’s favorite colors), fairies and stars added to the merriment.
A special assembly was conducted by the educators of GVU, Prep section wherein they played a short skit on Jesus Christ birth and life. Learners made the entire atmosphere with gaiety and Dancing to the foot tapping music added to the goodwill, warmth and cheer of Christmas. They emphasized the importance of caring, sharing and spreading goodness all around. The children spread cheer with their smiles and lovely attire. Educators also danced on 'Jingle Bell'.
The essence of Christmas came alive when Santa Clause himself went into the classes. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was amply visible on the faces of the children especially when Santa moved around distributing gifts to them.
Our Principal Ma’am, appreciated the efforts of the educators and the learners , applauded them for their stupendous level of confidence and discussed about the importance of celebrating Christmas. She emphasized on displaying the virtue of gratitude in life. She also elaborated on the importance of humility to lead a righteous life. We should be grateful to God, our parents, our school and our teachers as all are essential in the making of true humans.
