“As parents and teachers, we share a common goal of helping our children reach their full potential.” PTMs are an essential part of a child’s academic journey, and it is important for parents to prepare themselves for these meetings. By following these do’s and don’ts, parents can ensure that they get the most out of the meeting and work effectively with the teacher to address any concerns and improve their child’s academic performance. Effective communication between parents and teachers is key to a child’s success, and PTMs provide an opportunity for this communication to take place.
Shri H.J Gajera Secondary & Higher Secondary Section, Utran conducted a special Parent Educator Meeting for classes 8th to 12th on 20/01/2024 (Saturday).
Parents were given feedback on their ward’s performances and results. It was a great interaction between the teacher and the parents for the development of their children where they discussed both the strengths and areas of improvements. The event witnessed around 75% attendance thus displaying enthusiastic interest among parents for the smooth working and progress of the school.
Parents were encouraged to appreciate student’s participation in all academic activities. This helped to create the necessary consciousness among parents to stimulate their interest in the students and the school. They gave their view points and suggestions to teachers regarding the school and its development.
Educators gave all the information regarding upcoming exams, and also made them remind about the regular use of GEMS APP The meeting helped to create better understanding between parents and teachers and build a harmonious relationship between the school and the community.
The PTM came to an end with the conclusion that joint effort, mutual understanding and cooperation of parents and teachers is very important for the proper nourishment and progress of students.
When teachers communicate with parents and get to know each student better, they can make well-informed choices about what and how to teach the student. Teachers can receive information regarding the learning pattern, academic difficulties and room for improvement. This certainly boosts the academic interest of students. It leads to better grades and a deeper knowledge of the subjects they study. Similarly, parents can pick up teaching techniques that work well for their child in the classroom and duplicate them at home to reinforce the child’s learning.
Parent-teacher meetings allow students and parents to provide feedback to school management.. If you feel the need for improvement, you can express your concerns during the meeting.
By attending the parent teacher meeting, parents are giving time to the holistic development of their child. This meeting also gives parents the time to focus on the obstacles that may hinder the progress of child.
