Sports are the activities that integrate amusement with physical exercise. Sports are usually games with certain rules that need exertion of body, mind or both. Sport isn't just a good way to keep children's bodies healthy, but it also has psychological benefits and teaches them important life skills too. Playing sport helps children learn to control their emotions and channel negative feelings in a healthy way. Playing in a team helps children develop many of the social skills they will need throughout life. It teaches them to cooperate, be less selfish, and to listen to other children.
In recognition of the need to inculcate the sporting spirit in learners, the school organized Annual Sports Meet for our little Gajerians. The day began with the marking the commencement of the opening ceremony, followed by the lighting of the torch. It was a beautiful sight to behold on a cold winter morning as the tiny tots entertained with a spectacular parade and Aerobics. They performed various exercises using Pom-Poms, which was followed by Zumba exercises.
Learners participated in large numbers in engaging and innovative Games like Sorting color ball, The Cone Challenge, pass the ball, Jumping Station, Cup Pyramid Challenge, Pick and Click, Ring Skipping, Hurdle Race. The little feet tapped when they ran the race and the tiny hands joyfully clapped and cheered for their peers. Learners participated with great enthusiasm in the various fun games that the teachers had planned for them. They participate in a wide range of sports events, cheer on their teammates, and learn valuable lessons in sportsmanship.
After the games were concluded, the winners were announced in each category. Each child who
participated received appreciation for their enthusiasm. The sense of achievement among the children was visible, and all the learners left the field with big smiles.
The event not only allowed children to showcase their athletic abilities but also helped them to develop a strong sense of camaraderie and team spirit. It was a day of fun, laughter, and healthy competition, bringing the entire school community together.
