Conservation Week Celebration

"Energy saved is energy earned. Let us work towards a sustainable world by embracing renewable energy'.

Our planet’s natural resources consist of air, sunlight, soil, minerals, fuels and water. All of these things are found in nature and used by people. Today the Earth is facing challenges like climate change, deforestation, loss of habitat forwildlife, pollution and more. It is high time that our present generation inculcates environment friendly habits to lead a green lifestyle. In order to emphasize this, activities were initiated.

To increase the awareness about protecting the natural resources and inculcating sustainable practices in our daily life GVU, Prep section organized  Conservation Week celebration for  the Kinder Gajerians. The prime aim of celebration was to propagate awareness amongst learners the importance of nurturing Nature for a promising and better future. After all, a small group of thoughtful, committed responsible little citizens can change the world. Learners were sensitized towards the environment through various activities spanning  the week.

1. Conserve  Energy and Save Water Animals

Water is an indispensable, natural resource as no life can exist without water. It is also renewable and reusable. to help keep the resources pure and safe for the coming generations, water animals and energy conservation activities were done by Kinder Gajerians. Learners were acquainted with energy conservation via PPT.

They also learnt how to conserve Water bodies, save Water and care and save  animals by practicing humanitarian deeds.

2. Conserve Forest and  Wild Animals

To spread awareness about forest conservation and extinct animal species , a small skit was played by educators and learners. Wherein  learners learnt about the significance of trees in our life, climate change, wildlife habitats, and forest resource provision through presentations, role-plays, and interactiveclass talk  by the educators.

3. Conserve Soil

Learners of Jr.kg. and sr.kg. were celebrated conservation week through the soil activities where they learnt the importance  of soil, types of soil ,uses of soil, how can we protect soil from plastic etc. Educators reminded them about waste segregation at home .They also explained about 3RS - Reduce - Reuse - Recycle.

4. Paper bag making activity

"Say no to plastic bags"

To ignite the need to adopt paper bags instead of the handy plastic bags, paper bag making activity was done by Kinder Gajerians. They were explained the drawbacks of using plastic. They were guided how to make paper bags out of recycled paper. They showcased their creativity and artistic skills by making attractive paper bags.

The message of preservation and conservation of the Earth is clearly embedded in their young minds. Many students promised to alter their habits to help in saving the natural resources. Nature conservation efforts need to start from home also. When we teach our children to interact sensitively with the environment, we indirectly help the community at large. Let us teach our children to do their bit towards protecting the environment.

"Let's nurture nature so that we can have a better future."
