Gandhi Jayanti : A Day of Learning and Reflection

GVU prep section  was alive with the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi as we celebrated Gandhi Jayanti. This special day not only marked the birth anniversary of one of India’s greatest leaders but also served as an opportunity for our little learners to understand the values of peace, non-violence, and truth that Gandhiji championed.

The day began with our enthusiastic learners coming to school dressed as Gandhiji.  As the children settled in, we played Gandhiji’s favorite bhajan, “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram” and “Vaishnavajan to tene re kahiye re...”  The children were encouraged to sing along, and it was a joy to witness their innocent voices harmonizing with the tune. Learners also expressed mahatma Gandhi’s thoughts in their bubbling voice.

Next, we shared the timeless message of the three monkeys: “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.” Through engaging visuals and storytelling, we explained how these principles align with Gandhiji’s philosophy of non-violence and truth.

To further enrich their understanding, we presented a PowerPoint that illustrated key moments from Gandhiji’s life and his contributions to India’s freedom struggle. The slides included colorful images and simple text that captured the attention of our young audience. We highlighted his dedication to truth and non-violence, making it relatable for the children. This visual aid helped them grasp the significance of his teachings in a fun and engaging way.

In conclusion, our Gandhi Jayanti celebration was not just an event; it was a meaningful learning experience that instilled important values in our little ones.
