Sunita’s Makerspace is an
innovation-driven space where passionate individuals can thrive together to
work on creative and sustainable projects. It has ventured to a unique virtual
platform wherein makers with different talents can showcase their expressions
of hopes, dreams, and happiness.
At Smakerspace,
individuals can dream, design, and create. Smakerspace provides spaces for
individuals to cultivate their innovative minds, creativity, social, and
synergy through events, workshops, and other 16 club activities like music,
drama, photography, maths, and more.
It focuses on encouraging
“young minds” to develop a career of their choice. Smakerspace provides them
with the platform for ideas, innovations, plans, concepts, solutions along with
peer-to-peer learning. It also heartens today’s youth to become tomorrow’s
leaders.
Maker’s Day is a day when
we celebrate your skills every year on 12 October, on the birth anniversary of
Late Trustee Mrs. Sunita Gajera, who dreamed of providing a launchpad for young
creators and makers so that they can express themselves. Like the previous
years, a particular theme is chosen within which makers create their works of
art, innovation and creativity. This year the theme was 'Sustainability'.
Under this event GAJERA VIDYABHAVAN PRE-PRIMARY SECTION, UTRAN recently organized a three-day competition that encouraged students to showcase their talents and creative thinking in various fields. These competitions comprise six exciting events: Rangkala, Kalakari, Vigyan Sarthi, Hastkala, Dancing leaf and acting bud. Each event had a unique focus, but they all aimed to harness the creative potential of our little learners.
1. KALAKARI:- This competition was dedicated to Kalakari, where little learners let their artistic talents shine.The focus was on spreading valuable messages through creative drawings. It was a platform for students to express their thoughts on pressing issues through art. The participants used innovative techniques and materials to bring their messages to life on paper. Learner tackled a range of subjects, from environmental conservation to social justice. With a plethora of colors, brushes, and a canvas of imagination, the participants left everyone in awe with their artistic prowess.
2. RANGKALA:- In "Rangkala,"our nursery learners showcased their artistic skills by coloring pictures of nature, embracing the beauty of leaves, trees, and other elements. They colored the picture with their favorite colors and participated in the event with lots of zeal and zest .
3. VIGYAN SARTHI:- This competition was all about science and family involvement. In Vigyan Sarthi, little learners teamed up with their parents to prepare science models that demonstrated their understanding of scientific concepts. The models were as diverse as the students themselves, ranging from physics and chemistry experiments to biology demonstrations. During the competition, students not only presented their models but also explained the science behind them. It was heartwarming to see the collaboration between learners and their parents, as families bonded over scientific exploration. The enthusiasm and creativity displayed by the learners in their projects were truly impressive and underscored the importance of hands-on learning in science.
4. HASTKALA :- This competition celebrated the art of recycling and upcycling in Hastkala. Little learners were challenged to create innovative models and items using waste materials. This event highlighted the significance of sustainability and encouraged the learners to think outside the box.
Participants showcased their ability to turn everyday items into extraordinary creations. From sculptures made of discarded plastic bottles to functional items crafted from old newspapers, the ingenuity on display was nothing short of remarkable. It was a valuable lesson in resourcefulness and environmental consciousness.
The Two additional competitions took place on an online platform, the Sunita's Makers app "Dancing Leaf" and "Acting Bud".
5. Dancing Leaf :- This competition shows the diversity of cultural dance forms, with students participating and presenting dance styles from various regions with impactful messages.
6. Acting Bud :- This competition provided a stage for aspiring actors to shine, expressing their acting skills and demonstrating various acting types.

The
prize distribution ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. Mukesh Dholakiya,
Mrs. Anjana Chevli and Mrs. Amee Godiwala they all are well renowned Fine Art Artists, host Art
exhibitions in different parts of India.Mr.Divyesh Patel ,Dance choreographer,
participated in many realities shows and
Competitions on various channels.
The
event culminated with a grand prize distribution ceremony, where the winners
were felicitated with trophies and certificates. This moment recognized the
hard work, dedication, and talent of our little learners. The smiles on their
faces and the sense of achievement were truly heartwarming.
Sunita's Makers competitions at our school was a testament to the creative, scientific, and artistic talent our little learners possess. It provided a wonderful opportunity for them to explore their skills, collaborate with learners, parents, educators and showcase their abilities. These
events not only nurtured their talents but also fostered a spirit of innovation
and creativity that will serve them well in the future. Congratulations to all
the participants for their exceptional performances, and here's to a bright
future filled with more such opportunities for growth and self-expression. The
event came to an end with the vote of thanks by the Vice-Principal.
