National Sports Day is an excellent opportunity to honor India's rural sports. The national Sports day in India is celebrated on 29th August every year and marked as the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, widely known as “Wizard Of hockey.”
It's an important life lesson to realize that there will always be people who are smarter or sportier than us! However, with every life experience, there is something meaningful and educational behind it. One of the most powerful messages that a sport day brings is the importance of 'giving things a go'.
Sports give a student a chance to enhance the physical and social skills. It offers a child a change from the monotony of a daily routine. It keeps the stress and anxiety away. It also develops strong emotional bonds among the team who support each other with victory as well as defeat. Playing sports regularly protects a person from many diseases and many problems of body parts, especially overweight, obesity and heart diseases. Children should never be discouraged to play sports but should be encouraged.
In order to inculcate sportive spirit in the learners and also mark the significance of National Sports Day, Gajera Vidyabhavan, Pre-primary section, Utran, organized several traditional games to inculcate the feeling of true sportsmanship among the children and to enhance their physical and social skills.
The little ones had fun while indulging in different games like Hide and seek, rope pulling, Five Stones, Hopscotch, skipping race, Blind Fold( Ankh Micholi) etc. The learners enjoyed playing the games and learnt a few basic rules of the games from their educators. Enthusiastic educators’ initiative to make the learners learn the games were really appreciable. It was shocking that little learners aren't aware about traditional games.
All the learners actively participated and made it a huge success to cherish sports and its tremendous benefits. Olympics gold medalists three time, in international matches Salute to the 'magician of hockey' Padma Bhushan Major Dhyanchand ji on his birth anniversary, who raised the honor of Indian hockey by scoring more than 400 goals on the world stage.Your sports skills and achievements will always inspire us.
