Navratri' means 'nine nights.' 'Nava' means 'nine,’ and 'Ratri' means 'night.' Night provides rest and rejuvenation. During the night, you turn inwards through sleep, and you wake up feeling refreshed and rested in the morning. In the same way, Navratri or the ‘nine nights’ is that time of the year when you get the chance to experience deep rest. This deep rest brings freedom from all kinds of botherations, deep relaxation, and creativity. Devi Puja is an expression of expanded consciousness showing reverence to the whole Creation. The puja that we perform during the 9 days of Navratri is a way of honoring the Devi and showing our gratitude to the Mother Divine. Each day of Navaratri different avatars of Goddess Durga are worshipped.
On First day – Shailputri
Second Day – Brahmacharini
Third Day – Chandra ghanta
Fourth Day – Kush Manda
Fifth Day – Skanda Mata
Sixth Day – Katyayani
Seventh Day – Kaalratri
Eighth Day – Mahagauri
Ninth Day - Siddhidatri.
To celebrate glorious heritage, culture and traditions and also keep the new generation in touch with our culture and traditions, the Gajera Vidyabhavan prep section celebrated Navratri with great zeal and zest. The day started with 'Aarti' along with our principal ma'am, vice principal, educators and our little Gajerians. Our principal ma'am addressed the learners about the importance of the Navratri. She also explained how it is celebrated all over the world .Educators performed nine avatars of Goddess Durga. Learners were told about the importance of nine days of Navratri and about the ‘nine forms’ of Goddess Durga and how Navratri celebration symbolizes victory over evil.
Learners were also informed about the festival of Dussehra. They enjoyed the serene atmosphere. Educators were attired in the costumes of Lord Ram, Lakshmana, Sita Mata, Hanumaan ji and Ravana. They were acquainted with the fact that Ravana was basically very intelligent. His knowledge was equal to the knowledge of ten heads. His ten heads are symbolic of his great wisdom and a huge effigy of Ravana with ten heads was burnt after the RamYatra. The event was a learning experience for all and enriched the young ones about our heritage and culture. The primary objective of the entire show was to convince the students that no matter how intelligent a person is, his pride and ego will be the reason for his collapse. Taken Navratri festival into consideration and to strengthen the bond between mother and child we have organized an online competition " Navli Navratri Mata ne Sangathe ". Parents and children took part in the competition with great zeal and zest.
All the learners attired in traditional dresses added to the festive mood. Learners along with educators all danced on the beats and tune of ‘Dandiya’ very devotedly with their heart out creating a vibrant and exuberant show. The entire wing of Prep Section celebrated this day devotedly with full gaiety , excitement and their heart out creating a vibrant and exuberant show.
