The one act play is a form of drama which suits the modern way of looking at reality. The major characteristic of one act play is its shortness; it is restricted by time and diction so as to make its characters and situations easily understood and appreciated by the audience. Precision, economy of words and action, and tight structure are the chief merits of a one-act play.
One Act Play Competition was organized for the Learners of Std 1st & 2nd. The theme of the competition was based on the Ramayan. Learners with their art of creative expression portrayed themselves as Lord Rama, Devi Sita, Lord Hanuman, Lord Laxman, Lav – Kush, Sabari etc. The budding stars used a variety of props to make their drama interesting and expressive. They learnt different values like helping others, being humble, always speaking truth etc. The Learners exhibited utmost enthusiasm and passion in enacting their acts.
Such shows give wings to the Learners’ imagination and transport them to places beyond the boundaries of their physical world. This show has been instrumental in providing the platform to the Learners to exhibit their theatrical skills.
