The “Plant a Smile” campaign is a year-long initiative at Arigato by Sunita’s Makerspace at Gajera Vidyabhavan, aimed at encouraging personal well-being and fostering happiness through a focus on mental health. This campaign inspires participants to care for themselves and their environment, promoting skill development and a plastic-free culture while ensuring a joyful experience through active engagement.
With the intention of spreading awareness and cultivating a sense of collective responsibility towards our planet Earth, the students of SHREE H J GAJERA ENGLISH MEDIUM PRIMARY SCHOOL enthusiastically participated in “PLASTIC FREE PARADE” under the campaign #plantasmile. This initiative aimed to educate and empower the students and the society to become active participants in the mission to reduce plastic waste.
Furthermore, the celebration encouraged students to adopt jute bags for their day-to-day activities. They were motivated to replace plastic bags with these reusable, biodegradable alternatives. The students learned about the detrimental impact that single-use plastic bags have on the environment, including pollution, wildlife endangerment, and the clogging of drainage systems.The students gained a deeper understanding of their role in reducing single-use plastic waste in their everyday lives, be it at home, work, or school.
This Parade raised awareness about the urgency of addressing the global plastic pollution crisis and empowered them to take concrete steps towards a sustainable future. The event not only fostered a sense of responsibility and compassion in the students but also highlighted their ability to make a positive impact on the environment through simple yet effective actions.
