International Mother Language Day was announced by the UN in November 1999 and has been celebrated every year since February 2000 by the member states of the United Nations General Assembly, helping to promote “Unity in Diversity” with the aid of multilingualism and multiculturalism. It was designed to promote linguistic and cultural diversity.
Young Gajerians celebrated the day with great enthusiasm and fervor. Learners presented speech in different languages along with the attire of state. They also performed a short Skit based on different cultures along with dance and music. Educators guided Learners and made them aware of the importance of celebration.
